This is Andras my amazing colleague who flew all the way from London for the event today.

It was a beautiful day today. I was scared to meet my manager in the morning as I had let him down by not sending him the results. He said that he is not upset. I cannot believe that he was not angry at me and was smiling. I found that comforting but also as a push to never let him down or be unproud of me.

I also met Andras, David, Eleanor, Andrea, Devesh, Greig. Andras is my sweetest and amazing colleague, who gave me his kind words of advice on career, promotions, money and arguments. I find hard navigating through these things. And he kindly walked with me and mentioned me things which I could have not though about. I hope I become a wise man like him. I was able to tell Grieg and Devesh that I would like to be mentored by them as I would like to have the same career trajectory as them as they have had PhDs and successful careers. In our previous away day a person won the mentorship opportunity from Grieg. It was really nice to meet David too, who I have chatted so much. He was incredibly kind to meet in person. I think I got the bit wrong, I presumed he lived in Edinburgh but he is Glasgow based. It was nice chatting with Eleanor who has just moved to Edinburgh. She is so kind!

The food in the dinner was amazing - Lamb and cous cous and some apple crumble. Tanay wanted to ‘clubbing’ but I said no and rushed back home. I feel that I am incredibly different and lazy for age. But there is work tomorrow!
