Kindred spirits
We had such a very special time today with friends we originally met in Seattle . I first met Natalie when us bus drivers were preparing to match to the school board asking for better benefits and wages . She was our new union rep. I was the shop steward so I ended up working very closely with her in negotiations . We became close friend and also with her spouse Katherine . They moved to Colorado in 2014 , and altho we’ve remained good buds we haven’t seen them since then. They were out visiting K’’s nieces in this area and happily made time to spend the afternoon with us.
Here we are having take out Thai and then indulged on a Bumbleberry pie made by Big R. — with whip cream on top. Delicious .
My son and the grandkids came by as my son knew them from his growing up in Seattle . We talked and talked just like old times. They headed. Ack out and fly home to Colorado. Bittersweet to say goodbye , but I’m forever thankful we were able to reconnect for several hours . My heart is happy .
