Very Obedient

Our Physostegia virginiana aka Obedient Plants are blooming. Sometimes called 'false dragonhead' this native North American beauty is in the mint family and can be found from eastern Canada to northern Mexico. It's called 'obedient' because if you push a flower spike to one side it will often stay that way. They seed profusely and although we now have them growing in many areas of our yard, I don't consider them an invasive species. I love them, as do the pollinators!
