Hectic!

A busy day - started with Oscar being taken for his walk, which was good as the hairdresser came so he wasn't able to annoy her! Then she left, Oscar came home and Nellie arrived! We had a good chat and managed to avoid politics and current affairs! Well until she was leaving when Russell Brand was discussed. I like him and saw him reading a story to children at a festival - he came over very relaxed, chilled and kind - no ego. I hate this cancel culture we now exist in, and do suspect from what I have read from various sources that the documentary was not as journalistically sound as they would like us to think. His claim he is being targeted does seem to have some validity. He has written 2 books and clearly detailed his previous drug and sex addiction - whether this led to anything non-consensual is for the courts to decide. I saw a documentary he did many years ago detailing what leads some to have an addictive personality - even some rats have this trait and cannot have delayed gratification and are unable to learn from experience that if they wait they will get food dispensed - they just keep pressing the trigger! He has done a lot as regards the most effective approach to getting people off drugs - as have others, but as usual the Government fail to listen and act. I feel the media are complicit in allowing his past outrageous behaviour - there are many other comediennes who acted similarly. The current Lawrence Fox and Dan Wooten incident is just the final straw after many years of disgusting behaviour - particularly against Caroline Flack and Meghan Markle. No to mention Wootens personal  alleged misconduct which didn't see him taken off the television or his column. Russel has been demonetised from Youtube and the government even wrote to Rumble where he moved his channel, telling them to take him off. On what actual evidence?  But then they are both right wing and Russell is decidedly left wing! Anyway - I shall watch how this unfolds with interest and impartiality.
Next on the activity today was a visit to the vets for oscars annual check up and inoculation. Last year the vet said he would need to have dental hygiene work due to plaque in a couple of years, but today she found gum disease so he is going to have it done in october. This means anaesthetic  so she will check with the vet in Bude who did his heart scan to see if they need to take certain precautions. I don't know why he has such a problem - his mother has great teeth even at her advanced age. Plus Oscar has a healthier diet than her - apart from maybe dog treats! But I try to buy natural, healthy ones!
