Last night of holz
Pic is of the clock tower of Pollensa Towns main Catholic Church - Santa Maria dels Àngels - just visible from our table.
We spent today on the beach, finding a quietish spot on the edge of Puerto Pollensa. Youngest didn't find it too overwhelming and she spent lots of time bobbing around in the sea.
Before heading back to the villa I took her for a short stroll to a hotel my parents took me for family holidays as a youngster. It is currently being renovated but the building itself looks very much the same. It was booked from the Thompson 'Small & Friendly' brochure back then and was owned by a character called Juan.
We arrived there with suitcases on one afternoon during siesta time, not so fresh from a flight to (& long bus ride from) Palma. There was one member of staff covering the reception & bar and we were all parched. Unfortunately for us this was the 1980s and he was transfixed to a portable television watching an episode of The A-Team dubbed in Spanish. It was a long wait but he was peeled away eventually!
Sometime in the late '90s Hotel Galleon went very upmarket and well beyond our means, as has quite a lot of the resort. Was nice spending some time there today though rekindling some memories.
Early start tomorrow to head back to the airport for home :-)
