Something very Rev.Awdry about the Orange Express
Today we took a return ride on Majorca's oldest rail line - Ferrocarril de Sóller - boarding at the lovely town of Bunyela & riding Northwest to spend the afternoon wandering around & watching some of the world go by in Soller.
Being a narrow gauge line, the station buildings have a touch of Re.W.Awdry about them - the main pic showing one of the engine sheds & in the 1st extra, another fronted with a turntable.
The run between Bunyola & Soller includes a long tunnel through the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, and lots of winding bends, including one across a viaduct.
Soller itself is a nice place to while away a good few hours and with its dramatic mountain backdrop is very picturesque. Bunyola looked equally lovely but unfortunately there were not enough hours in the day to explore.
Extra extras are a look down Carrer de sa Lluna & a stone depiction of the Man in the Moon above the doorway of number 50 :-)
