Napa

We spent the day on a wine tour. Our transportation was an old repurposed San Francisco trolley bus. We visited 3 vineyards and the Chief and enjoyed tastings at the first 2. By the time we reached the third vineyard we were “ wined out” and sat in the sun and dozed whilst the far younger members of the tour enjoyed more hospitality. 
One side of the valley was destroyed by a large fire several years ago and smaller fires are common. The land outwith the irrigated areas looks like desert to me and the area has a chronic shortage of rain. I spoke to a man who came here as a child on holiday who says the landscape has changed a lot over a couple of decades : more arid and less green. A taste of things to come sadly.
