Slowly Winding Down...

The garden is beginning to shed its last bit of color.  This Joe Pye is softly muted now but still lovely.  There are still patches of color here and there like the sedum, rudbeckia and phlox but the cut back will begin in the next couple of weeks.  St. Francis will retire to his winter home in the potting shed, and we will begin to button up the house in preparation for winter.  The wheel keeps turning.  Gift#271: an ever-changing garden.
