Decaying
I haven't seen many fungi so far this year excepting those that turn up in my Facebook memories feed, which probably goes to show how topsy-turvy the weather has been this year in the UK. So today I took a trip out to Witley Common which is normally a good spot to feed the urge to crawl about the woodland and heathland floor looking for interesting subjects. I had a good walk, but still not much in fungi growth.
The best I found was this clump of what I believe are false chanterelle (as opposed to the edible ones found in supermarkets). Many of the fruits had toppled over and were decaying, so rather than a record image of a pristine fungus you have one for this week's Derelict Sunday instead!
