October leaves
Wow, into October, where has the year gone?
We are now into the season at church to make up shoe boxes for Christmas to hand out to people who would benefit from a little extra.
This year our local primary school has taken on the task as a project, so instead of making up shoe boxes, we are going to hand in items for them to do the assembly. This morning we had five members of their top class with their teacher, telling us of their plans and thanking us for helping them. The children were very nervous, but did a good job of public speaking and we gave them a good ovation. It is so good to include the community in these activities, and the school is very keen to educate the children on what they can do to help poorer people. Win win!
I did some cooking in the afternoon and the sun was shining outside so I made some coffee for us to have out on the deck as it is quite warm. And when I took out the coffee, these two leaves were on the table, and I thought them very pretty, so blipped them.
Have a good Sunday!
Oh, nearly forgot to mention, our Macmillan Coffee morning raised £2,860 and still counting.......
