Town improvements

A dull day today, with spots of rain now and then. The car was booked in for its MOT this morning so I drove down at 9am and walked back. Fortunately it passed, so I walked down in the afternoon and drove it back. Not the most exciting way of spending a day!

I noticed in passing that the short pedestrian street known as Gibraltar Street is being resurfaced. The council has put forward several proposals which have been criticised for various reasons, and there have been complaints about the large sum of money paid to architects for schemes which won't be going ahead. I put forward an idea for more planting space, but it doesn't look as if this will happen. There was talk of outdoor seating areas, but that was criticised too as it wasn't certain who would be looking after it. We'll see!
