Grumpy Old Man

Exotic fruit

Another good day, weather-wise. Mrs M wasn't using the car this morning so I decided to go to the Corran Halls to clear up the pile of sweepings which I left at the bottom of the steps the other day. I persuaded my friend Sue to come too to do some more paving weeding. We spent a couple of hours there - that will have to do for the time being.

This afternoon I did some more weeding among my potted plant  collection, went out to take a spare plant to a friend, do a bit of shopping and finish up with a doc's appointment. My Blip today is of a bunch of fruit of Euonymus cornutus, a deciduous shrub native to Tibet, central China and Myanmar. It was originally given to me by my later friend Jim Taggart, plantsman extraordinaire, and though badly chewed by deer a few years ago, has recovered well enough to flower and fruit. I must put some cuttings in and move the shrub to a better spot where it can be seen.
