Tree stump to dragon

One of the advantages of having dogs is that you explore and get to know your neighbourhood. Cardiff is well provided for with parks and wild woods often hidden form nearby houses. One such example is a lovely and quiet wood called Coed y Felin (mill wood) which as you might expect is on the site of an old water mill. It is lovingly cared for by local volunteers and is a wonderful and quiet place to walk the dogs. One of the old tree trunks close to the stream has been transformed by a local wood carver into a scary dragon. It's also a great place to bring the kids who can have fun climbing and riding the dragon.
The other photo is another tree stump carving, this time of an owl with mice scurrying amongst the roots. Not sure whether it is the same artist as the dragon.
