Surprise sighting

Look who we saw on the way home, Queen Camilla coming out of a literacy event in Braemar. We had stopped for a comfort break and spotted police , a couple of Range Rovers and a photographer. We overhead him saying that Camella was inside the church and he was waiting for her to come out. We did not know what time , waited for a while and decided to go for a chocolate chocolate , sitting outside where we could see the church entrance.
No appearance so walked back to the car and guessed it would be 11 o clock when people started to leave. We walked up the slope and waited by some railings. We got chatting to a couple from Australia who were visiting for 6 weeks. They had seen the King at Dumfries house a few weeks ago so we’re thrilled that they were going to see the Queen too. ( still feels strange saying that ).
They had been to the Black Isle, visiting the cathedral and Cromarty and having a very tasty cinnamon bun from the Bakhoose.
We got to see her as she walked down the steps and she gave us a wave as she was driven past.
We started the day with a good breakfast which included fresh strawberries.
It seemed a long way back as we drove through Glenshee and over the Lecht. We stopped at Corgarff castle for the tea and cake we took with us. The sun was just about peering out through the clouds :)
