Life through the lens...

Berry......eutiful.

Don't be fooled. We didn't have a lot of blue sky today. About 3mins before I took this photo it was raining.
I'm sure there are more berries this year. As yet the blackbirds haven't found them. Actually haven't seen any blackbirds about yet this winter.

We had a very enjoyable wine tasting last night. Good to catch up with everyone as we haven't met since the garden party in July.

In the 1980s there was a craze for Beaujolais Nouveau. Always released on the 16th November.  It is the lightest and fruitiest style of Beaujolais and meant for simple quaffing.
The more serious wines are from the 10 cru villages. All made from the red Gamay grape.
The best known is Fleurie with its bright and vibrant fruit, but our favourite of the night was from Juliénas  which is named for the Roman leader Julius Caesar.
Vineyards have been established here fir more than 2000 years.
By the way we didn't taste all 10 crus. Just 3, along with 3 white wines from the Macon area all made with the chardonnay grape.
