My first fungi of the season

Seen growing vigorously out of a pile of woodchip at the side of a footpath around the golf course. Anybody know what they are? My plant identification only gave the family name of which there were many types.

A productive morning painting fence panels something I started in the hot weather of early September. Main panels now complete. I’m told we can think about a bike ride next week, the weather is looking good, as long as all the required painting is finished.

News of the passing of another cousin this morning. Margaret, who had been suffering from Alzheimer’s for several years and had been in care for the last 18 months slipped away overnight. We saw her last April, it was an upsetting visit as she wasn’t the lovely lady that we knew so well.
