A "private" moment

Well, not really. I invaded their space since they were sitting so sweetly and clearly oblivious of me. They were basking, among other things ,in the sunshine on the deck. These are meadowhawk dragonflies. They are prolific around here at the moment.
For the second time some creature has left us an acorn on the deck railing. I wish I knew who was leaving them. The squirrels really haven't been around and so the only birds big enough would be the jays. The crows don't come to the back deck. It's an intriguing mystery.
The colors are really coming along now. I really enjoy this time of year.
