CNAM
The French love their acronyms, and today we were at CNAM, although cut deep into the stone above the entrance to its courtyard, is its full name, "Conservatoire national des arts et métiers". The outside of the building was typical impressive Parisian architecture but, inside, the lecture theatre was badly in need of refurbishment. However, the full-morning and full-afternoon tutorials were as good as I'd hoped. Otherwise, was the usual case of chatting with people we knew, meeting people we'd communicated with electronically, and fresh encounters.
We went to lunch with my former intern Y, who happened to have a class in the building that morning. She identified a good Chinese street café, and it was pleasant to sit outside.
Following the afternoon session, И and I had a stroll through the streets of Paris to unwind and discuss things and, back in Montreuil we found a Turkish bistro that was as good as it looked. Replete, I returned to my friends' house to catch up with them before going to bed.
