Complete … almost
The lads completed the installation of the solar panels today and were very pleased that they were able to get cables from the panels on the roof to the “brains” in the basement, and then another cable from the basement to the lounge to hard wire the Tesla battery to the WiFi router. MrMacD had to download two apps - one for the “brains” and one for the Tesla battery. Everything is working as it should, but can’t be switched on until the system has been inspected by someone from Network Waitaki, which might take a week. Who knows?
The second exciting thing today was a visit from the chap who’s doing our double glazing. All the aluminium sections that are required for “thermally broken” windows have arrived and the windows can now be manufactured. He came to double-check the measurements before commencing manufacture. The windows should be installed late this month or early November.
It was a beautiful day and we were able to open both sets of French doors to let the fresh air and sunshine in - a first since we’ve been here.
The items in the blip are:
Top left - the “brains”
Top right - the inverter
Bottom - the battery
