Glorious frugality

This image is from our courtyard under the wisteria, which, in the middle of June, is still in flower (usually it is all but over by the end of April). Look at the colours of the dying petals. I love the subtle pastel hues; from blue and pink to brown and grey.

I also love the way that biology excels in miserliness. Petals are recycled into the soil by worms and fungi, beetles and bacteria.
