Awash

Been raining all night. Nipped to the shops, not too bad I thought. On my return the burn had burst its banks and our wee lane is now a full blown river! Our lower lying neighbours out in force trying to unblock drains. Heavy persistent rain and fallen leaves are not a great combination. The house at the end of the road is particularly vulnerable, the burn runs a few metres from their front door held at bay by a retaining wall which is inches from breeching.
