Left behind
What a difference a day makes!
We didn't travel north yesterday for a day in the Dales followed by a trip to Wooler to check the flat one last time, as there was no prospect of the sale of the flat completing any time soon. So we'd made other plans for today.
Phone call from our solicitor this morning, and those plans were abandoned. In a nutshell, the Buyers have decided to override their solicitor, exchange will be today or tomorrow, and completion on the 10th. Today is the only day we can go to Wooler before then, so a short time after the call we set off.
Once there we picked up a set of keys from Carolyn, then had a last look around the flat and workshop. Glad to find that nothing was amiss. The plants remaining in the 'yard are all thriving, especially the cyclamen - if the container they're in had been smaller and lighter we would have brought it with us!
Called in to the estate agent's to hand over the keys, and to update them - the solicitor hadn't informed them about today's development.
Finally a cup of tea and catch up with Jacqui (and Fletch, of course) before heading south again. Sad to leave Northumberland...
