Jeremy Pelt

Pictured is the excellent trumpet player with the "Mission Eternal" Band, a  sextet composed of alumni (mostly, and not Jeremy-too young) of the Art Blakey Jazz Messengers.  This was the first set at Dizzy's Club.  The band played the repertoire of the famous Jazz Messengers of the 60s through 80s.  Great stuff.  The extra pictures the whole band minus the piano player and leader Eric Reed.  Eric qualified as a Messenger, even though he only played one gig with the band while in high school.  He said his mama said "no way" could he leave school and go on the road with Blakey.
