ALLOTMENT (ALL) DAY
Jon and I had planned a quick couple of hours at the allotment early this morning. But at 11 we went home for coffee, and then returned. The weather was so perfect, we wanted to keep going, and as there really was sooooo much to do, we got straight back to it. Home before 2 for lunch and then back for an hour to finish off. Very happy with the progress. We managed to burn a lot of the rubbish that has been piling up. We will need to go back again to burn the rest, but for now, a nice clear area for Bessie, and one of our water tanks emptied and repositioned, everywhere strimmed (by my superman Jon) and loads of rubbish cleared and taken home. A good day's work.
Dan and Viki came for dinner, and we cooked fajitas with lots of extra tortilla chips. Lovely to hear about their holiday in Crete and see them looking so happy.
NC500 update. So yesterday I promised I'd tell you about the next couple of stops for the boys. After an overnight at Golspie, the first night in their camper, they will drive the 108 miles to Melvich for their 2nd night. The Halladale Inn and North Coast Touring park has been booked. A nice restaurant, where they may eat. The site is on a picturesque bay. On their way, they will be passing through the most famous stop on the trip John O'Groats. No doubt stopping and taking in some sights. The following day, (Saturday) from Melvich they drive the 80 miles to Scourie. A beautiful campsite overlooking the sea, which boasts amazing sunsets, is their destination. Jon is still working on the best things to visit en route, but they are flexible and hope to be spontaneous. However, one of my blip friends lives in the area, and has been giving us excellent tips, which Jon is making a note of.
More tomorrow! Before we know it, it will be Wednesday, and I'll be expecting daily feedback directly from Scotland...he has been told!
