Relaxing
In some respects I have relaxed, in that I’ve kept my mind on the great outside. I set out on a walk to Seahouses, along the beach. It took me an hour and a half. There were lots of people on the beach; most had dogs. Most said ‘good morning’ so that was nice.
Once in Seahouses I searched for a cafe. Not a lot of choice but I stopped at a busy one. Sat outside at a table with another couple. I discovered today one of the down sides of being on my own - no- one to ‘save’ a table while you queue! They were friendly enough and there was room, so they let me sit with them, and it was a nice location in view of the harbour.
I browsed all of the small shops, and had a long chat with a lovely lady in Drift about my current position. She had various craft items for sale- things she had made, plus those made by others.
I then bought an ice cream, and wandered down to the harbour before walking back to Bamburgh along the road. There was a fine drizzle as I walked back, then bright sun in the west creating a beautiful rainbow over the sea behind the dunes. I took this of the castle as I walked back in the rain.
My hips and knees are telling me that it would be a good idea to stay put tomorrow. A hot bath may be in order tonight.
I had a nice catch up with my old college friend Glenys. We haven’t spoken for a while, and she is having similar feelings about her job as I’m having about mine. A symptom of working too long in Local Government perhaps.
I’m now waiting for my pizza to cook and plan to do…er…nothing this evening.
