Uketok jam

A fascinating day at the St Ives Old Riverport Ukulele Festival. The programme was a good balance between local Ukulele groups performing, workshops, a Uketock jam and a set of professional acts in the evening. The who event ended with Uketok leading the final audience jam.

The professional included Elizabeth Pfeiffer, the excellent due Lightwaves, the unbelievable Danilo Vignola and the A D Cook Girls. All very different and all mind blowingly good. Lighteaves edged it.

We were all uktoked out however, hardened members came back to the hotel and continued to jam and we’re still going strong when we retired for the night.

Yesterday evening’s jam was a marathon affair finishing at midnight and lasting three hours. There was a wedding at the hotel, many guests came through to where were were playing to listen and sing. I hope we didn’t spoil the wedding too much.
