Oysters Again
I was going into town anyway so took the scenic route around the Opera House. The main is the wall of oyster shells at the western entrance, but I took it from the inside looking out so you see the workings.
Next, yesterday’s poles on the northern boardwalk. I suspect the oysters are at the top so children don’t cut themselves. Lots of people about but they clustered at the harbour edge to watch P&O’s Pacific Adventure being piloted out.
Last, the midden. As I arrived people were streaming down the forecourt steps and a fence had been erected at the base. There had been a security threat.
Not unrelatedly, the NSW premier has announced that the Opera House sails will be illuminated with the Israeli flag this evening. And a pro-Palestinian protest march will end there.
Forgot to say, the artist is Megan Cope.
