Mountain day

We picked the nearest Big Hill to climb today and drove to the start point of the track up yet another windy road.
We walked up through forest and more forest before finally getting open views. And then on to the top of Krasji vrh (not a typo but doesn’t ask me to pronounce it). Stunning views all round - we could even see the sea, possibly Venice way.
As usual the walk down was tough on the legs , but felt bad complaining when we saw the war trenches and bunkers left up there from WW1. This was a major battle ground and hard to imagine now the horrors that soldiers endured up here.
