The old, the new, the bought and the blue!

The new little garden is now planted up and functional. It has the rotary dryer socket sited underneath the pot with the tiny rose bush in it (on the left).  It was used today to dry the washing, a first since we moved. Five months of using the tumble dryer must have cost!!!! 

It contains stone from Newark Castle in Nottinghamshire, built in the 12th century. It was slighted (dismantled) in the 17th century, so that may have been the point in time that some of the stone ended up in a friend’s garden nearby. 

The Heuchera and Geum plants originated in the Essex garden, moved to Saxilby, then here. Plants that are so easy to propagate. The strange coloured heathers were bought in a bowl from B & Q, a bit weird, but colourful. There are some small bulbs to appear in the spring as a surprise! 

It has been a very warm day. It was 27degrees upstairs in our bedroom late afternoon, hopefully it will have cooled off by bedtime.
