No, not my home!
This beautiful library is in the National Trust's Kingston Lacey. Wanted to avoid being glued to the depressing news on TV and Twitter, so thought we'd use up 2 tickets I had.
Kingston Lacey in only a 30mn drive and we parked easily. Visited the house, it feels like a home, rather than a museum. The home of the Bankes family.
Wikipedia: "The first family seat was in Corfe Castle which was destroyed during the civil war when the Bankeses, who were cavaliers (royalist followers), were besieged by parliament forces. After the return of King Charles II the Bankeses again rose to political power. Their new home, built at Kingston Lacy has survived until the present day, under the guide of the National Trust."
We joined a garden walk, with a historical emphasis, at 2pm. Lasted an hour. Enjoyed it, but was too hot for me to stand and listen. I resisted, but shall soon fall into bed.
