In Taxim this morning, rumbles of thunder marking sympathetic weather conditions. Nose itching from remnants of pepper spray that lingered hours after the last cannister was fired. The protests had been entirely peaceful for a week and yet the police still chose to use tear gas and water cannons as their primary/sole means of crowd management.
