Apologies for an unremarkable photo of a box of hay.
However, it represents a turning point in our year. Peter Tortoise, aka Stormin Norman, spent all morning shuffling about in his bed of hay in his special tortoise house.  By mid afternoon he had encased him self in this dense ball of hay . I think it means he has gone into hibernation and won't re-emerge until next March. Quite a sensible plan I think, especially if you don't care much for X###..
Later this month we will put more hay in the box to add to the insulation and then put the house in the shed over winter.
