Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Today's pick

Not bad for October in Edinburgh. I wish I knew what variety these raspberries are, they have been fruiting since July and are well into their second crop now.
I decided not to go to church this morning, it's the first day in about 3 weeks when I didn't have to be somewhere to do something for somebody, so I did something for me and had coffee in bed .
Once I got up I decided to sort out the toys in the sitting room to see if I could find somewhere to put yesterday's playmobil. We're fortunate in having two sitting rooms so one is set up with a cot and is where the toys are kept, lots of junk in other words! I spent ages removing the baby toys and sorting out the Lego, Duplo and Giant Duplo. Then I put together all the jigsaws, the cars went together d did the soft toys and I sorted out the books too. Now it's all done it still looks untidy but I did find a cupboard for the Playmobil.
The next job was converting some beef into a casserole ready for distribution tomorrow and rotating a chicken for dinner, one of my favourite meals. Yesterday's catalogue must have put me in the mood as I bought some sprouts to have with it
This evening we finally got round to watching the final episode of The Tower. We did enjoy it, I hope there is a third series. Now we are on the lookout for recommendations of something else to watch. Failing that I bought a set of DVDs of series 1 of Rome, so that will be perfectly acceptable.
