It makes the class fun and pumped.

Jean’s notes….(of limited interest to blippers)

Today we discussed LEARNING. How, why, where etc.

I can honestly say it was one of the most interesting topics I could have imagined. I don’t have time to type it all out but here are some references.

Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, Olfactory, Gustatory

What?
So What?
Now What?

Memory test- he showed us 10 words and images for 30 seconds, then we had to write them down in one minute. I surprised myself with 9. I grouped the words together to make a story image and this worked for me e.g. 3 of the words were : taxi; New York City and Cheese. So I mentally constructed a scenario of jumping into a cab in Times Square asking the cabbie to take me to the best cheese seller in the city. I did this automatically and it worked really well. He then talked about memory etc. short term long term and how you can train memory. So interesting.

Anyway my blip is the book that bookclub suggested last May that we read for tonight’s first get together after the summer.

I borrowed it from the library last week and I am now going to speed read it as haven’t actually opened it yet. That gives me exactly 2 hours to glance through it and fudge my way through the evening. (Let’s see how your memory works there Jeano)

Yikes
