Kestrel Lookout

Bit of a lame image as I was a long way away. We've been hearing a kestrel calling from the top of the northerly boiler house chimney for some time while we've been in the garden hunting for ivy bugs. I've snapped it a few times with my macro lens resulting in a dot in the frame. At least I had the 500mm on today. It's the female.

I picked up a devil's coach horse beetle when I was tidying around Ollie and Frankie dogs' graves. I had rubber gloves on but it was so big and so active I didn't fancy hanging on to it while I went to get the camera. They can give a painful bite.
