Variegated beech tree on burial mound.

In the park again this morning. I know this tree on the mound well, I raked up its leaves in the 1970s..

The mound is said to contain some of the remains of a Royalist garrison killed here in a conflict in July 1651 by Cromwell’s soldiers. The remains of the defeated garrison were discovered when part of the immediate area was redeveloped in the late 1700s.

My wife had some volunteer associates round this evening, tea and and an agenda. The house got a bit of a spring clean this morning. And I did some life admin in our office this evening and kept out the way.
