Their WV Farm Adventure Begins
We had perfect weather for a lot of outdoor adventures today. I made the crew a braid with sausage, cheese and scrambled eggs in a crescent roll for breakfast along with the usual offerings. Based on what was left, they enjoyed it. They walked around the farm and picked out some sea glass from my sister’s collection until it was time to go out on the ATVs. Ben’s vertigo sent him to bed to rest and Sarah stayed behind “to make bracelets” (she is very protective of her dad). We made lunch (turkey or beef burgers and BLT pasta salad) when they returned. My sister began preps for dinner as soon as the kitchen was clean. We are serving crab cakes, baked potatoes and a zucchini/veggie casserole with pizza sauce for dinner. I stayed home with Sugar and monitored dinner progress while the others went to the creek treasure hunting. Other than Marion’s ATV not holding a charge, their first full day at the farm was picture perfect. Sure hope your day was as well. Stay safe. Thanks so much for visiting and your sweet comments on Millie. Someone mentioned “wild and wonderful WV”. My BIL has cameras set up around the farm. This time, there were coyotes, a bobcat, deer, raccoons, opossums, and bears wandering around. All the neighbors report similar sightings on their property. We have told our guests to stay in the open where we can see them while they are here. We plan to skip our long walks. You do not want an encounter where you might get between a mother bear and her cubs. Tomorrow should be just as much fun. “One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure.” — William Feather
