Safety fence atop retaining wall.
The old retaining wall consisted of ponga logs essentially leaning against the bank. The bottoms may once have been buried. A combination of rotting of the logs and washing away of the plants and clay at the bottom made it worryingly inefficient, especially when we had the very heavy rains earlier this year. I cannot see any event other than an earthquake breaching this wall. The builders have almost finished. The next stage awaits sale of the beach house.
I walked to the Woodlands Park Store to fill our bottle with milk. The store is by the roundabouts where Woodlands Park Road meets Huia Road. Hence the extra photo.
