Not edible

Ok, cheating but here are a few more pix of Cork city just because I like it and it's been a busyish day here. Cork is on the River Lee which divides in two so you feel like you're surrounded by water and is surprisingly hilly with all sorts of little hidden areas. It's small enough to explore on foot, there are lots of coffee houses, plenty of decrepitude, some posh architecture and some sudden burst of colour. The locals are a pretty lively lot too.

Some very interesting comments about Nano Nagle's tomb and the little door that allowed you to touch the coffin. Why, some people asked. Well any connection with a saint can only be good and touching something that is either part of them or had been in contact with them is extra good - your petitions will be answered much more quickly. It's been going on a long time - I've attached an extra pic of an ancient shrine, probably 6C, and is you look closely at the bottom you'll see a little round hole - this is where pilgrims were allowed to put in their hands to touch the saint's bones. Nothing new!
