Ready to depart

A sparkling morning on the KESR, the afternoon wasn’t too bad and I was able to sign off duty early as the final train of the day was not running.

Well loaded trains given the time of year. The second diesel trip was full with a coach party.

The Saturday evening Pullman is running tonight so it was my job to put the paraffin lamps into six of the station signals. The extra is the view from the top of the down home section signal No 18 with the DMMU diesel waiting for its first run to Bodiam.

We both had the old one-two today. Covid and flu in the same arm. So far, so good, only a little tenderness.

All ready for the Saturday evening ritual. Dressed up. Nibbles ready. Meal cooking, wine open. Have good evening.

Shame about Wales in the Rugby World Cup, some controversy around a head contact that led to the decisive try for Argentina. I haven’t seen it myself - yet
