BCAM Day 13

Ooh, it’s Friday the 13th!!! Martin and I were married on Friday the 13th.

Sherry and Geraldine treated me to an Arabic breakfast today, see extras. It was absolutely delicious and I really enjoyed the experience of eating in a traditional setting. We were down by Deira Creek at Al Seef.

They’ve developed the area to make it feel “old” and souk-y. Really quite nice but still a bit hot weather wise so we were kind of racing through it.

We then headed to Wafi to look for something quite specific but sadly I didn’t find it. We enjoyed Arabic coffee though and then headed home for a bit of a rest. The heat is quite draining.

Back out again this time to the Gold Souk cause I need some jewellery to be fixed and Jon has requested some things as well. Felt quite overwhelmed with all the glitz, but managed to find something for him.

We then met up with Sherry’s ex-colleague and friend Diane and had drinks up at the Sol Sky Bar where we enjoyed these amazing views of Deira Creek, complete with pink dhows.

This is really the heart of Dubai and where it all started in the 60s. The main trade routes that went in and out of Dubai started and ended here at Deira Creek.

Really enjoyed the views from this side of the Creek.
