Seeing Beauty

"Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old" - a quote by Franz Kafka.

So I went out in the garden to see what I could find. There was a lot, though (maybe because?) the garden is horribly neglected. The tangerine tree is covered in scented blossom and baby fruit; the oregano and the lemon balm are flowering; the elephant grass has produced long, feathery seed heads; and the yuccas are flowering abundantly, as they do, sprinkled with the few drops of rain that fell in the night.

They are edible, but not something I fancied today - been wiped out with stomach cramps and the runs. Mike has kept me going with burnt orange skin and cinnamon tea with honey. Hoping I'm better in the morning, as we need to go to Lisbon to pick up a colleague from the airport. Practically the only prep we've done for her is to make her bed.

Gratefuls:
- being able to cancel commitments today
- our support group being supportive
- listening to Paul's practice sermon on the Tower of Babel
