Hedging my bets
New Zealand Pinot Noir and Irish whiskey (not together!!) - with the same name (nearly) as Ireland's New Zealand-born scrum half... And a Guinness glass (though filled with guarana from Brazil, not whiskey, as my brother in law feared when I sent him the pic :D). Two great games of rugby, but my tentative prediction of a potential European whitewash this weekend is now potentially completely wrong, with Argentina and NZ making the semis so far... How ironic if much-maligned England (deservedly so) were the only European nation to make the semi-finals... Thought both Wales and Ireland were unlucky, though Argentina and NZ both played their best game for a long while - especially Wales, who should have been playing against 14 men for 10 crucial minutes in the 2nd half after an Argentinian player recklessly smashed his shoulder into a Welsh player's head.
Spent 3 hours phoning before the fun started - mostly left voicemails, though once more a few made intimations they'd buy this week... including one biggie (6 cases, potentially - told me what he wanted, just waiting for payment as he was driving). Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey - as a former colleague used to say!! The English language is so full of idioms! But here's a few from a number of languages (:
