Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Another sunny day! When JR came back from the gym, and had her breakfast of course, we took Archie out for a walk - we were headed to the canal, but first we popped in to visit Christine and Dougal. I'd been texting her about something or other, and she mentioned that her arm was still sore after her Covid and flu jabs (three weeks ago) - she has SIRVA. Her brother's a doctor, so he made the diagnosis. We've checked it out, and now we're rather nervous of our up coming jabs. Eeek!

It was nice down at the canal, though a bit of a breeze made ripples in the water. A couple of chaps were sitting fishing, so I asked what they catch here - it looks like NOTHING could live in those murky waters. Pike or perch. I was astonished, and - warming to his subject -  he said he caught quite big ones, and indicated a fisherman's size of catch. I may have expressed disbelief, so he took out his phone and showed me a photo of him holding a very large pike!

On round and back up over the Meadows, a substantial 5,000 - odd step count for me. JR took Archie out for another walk later on.

Back in time for the England/Fiji rugby match. Fiji played so well, and almost did it. Brilliant work for a Tier Two team that doesn't get lots of international competition - they gave England a fright.

Another corker match this evening - France v South Africa. I wouldn't like to call this one...
