The straw that broke the camel's back.......

Another dry day with a chilly start. Once I'd been round and fed all the cows and calves, spent the morning hauling barley from next door and tipping it in the shed here. Ronnie is due in tomorrow to bruise and propcorn all the remaining barley,so it all needs to be here ready. Also took the loaders off 2 tractors as it is a tight reverse into the shed we tip the bruised barley in.
After lunch ,nipped down the road to feed all the heifers, then borrowed my friendly contractor's Manitou and grain bucket ready for tomorrow,as our loader tractors don't lift high enough to load the mobile bruiser.
By 4 pm the straw that was cut on Friday looked nearly ready to bale. If it hadn't been mid October I might have chanced leaving it to wilt for a few more days as there is a fair bit of grass in it. But don't want to take the chance of it getting rained on like the stuff I did yesterday.
By 7 pm I had it all done. That's the last field,so we are finished baling. (Unless I go and cut another field of grass for silage, will need to watch the forecast closely then make an executive decision! )
