Fading light

Today was almost entirely taken up with driving to Rotherham to see a recommended hand specialist. I know I have arthritis everywhere, but that doesn't mean I've stopped looking for ways to manage or mitigate it. Why Rotherham? (a) because Tim was recommended to me by someone I trust (b) I have trust issues & (c) I have zero faith in my local NHS trust who spent three years trying to cripple me with my ankle.

Tim had booked me in as his last consultation of the day, so whilst he was getting out of scrubs his assistant got their own xrays done - yet again Cumbria had failed to send mine over. Tim spent a long while showing me where cysts and damage have worn away my joint, and then talking me through a not nice list of options, all of which should be put off for as long as possible. He then offered to circumvent the normal "go away wait six weeks for an appointment six weeks after that" process in respect of my 300mile round trip. He may also have been prewarned a out my reaction to needles - but steroid injection into the joint capsule under local anaesthetic it was. In the extra my thumb is under considerable traction to make a needle wide gap that is currently not normally there. He warned me it will be sore for a few days :-/

Stopped on the A66 as the sunset welcomed me home.
