Through the Trees
There is a very interesting paddock alongside part of the Taylor River tracks. It is part of the Wither Hills Farm. The farm managers' homestead is close by.
The paddock has lots of trees in it. There are grassy stretches and an offal pit and a collection of beehives. Apart from the offal pit, which smells a bit pungent when the wind is blowing from it, there is a lovely rural feel about this area.
At times the paddock is inhabited by a few sheep and they meander about from the flat areas and up through the terrace to a higher level.
My dogs love the look of this paddock. They enjoy the smells and are fascinated with the livestock. Fergus wags his tail frantically. He would love to have a game with the sheep. Gypsy does her eye-dog stuff and would dearly like to round them up.
This is the stretch of the track where dog leads and discipline rules the day....much to the disappointment of the dogs.
I love the light and shade on the tree trunks at different times of the day in the paddock. And I often linger to photograph different features. With two dogs attached to my wrist and sitting patiently at heel while I exercise my creativity.......Patience is a virtue....
