Halloween trail at Claremont

This morning, before the rain, I met a friend at Claremont NT gardens. There is a Halloween trail for children but we were not very impressed so we will not be taking the grand children next week! I have not been there for several months and we noticed that another area of rhododendrons has been severely pruned.

After a coffee and snack I went to a garden centre nearby, Garson Farm. A very large area has already been given over to Christmas decorations. They always have a theme and this year it is Artists. So for  example  the area for Van Gogh has lots of blue and gold decorations re his Night Sky painting.
there is also a huge area with toys for all ages…much better than John Lewis in Kingston. i think you could do all your Christmas shopping there as there are lots of ornaments and clothes…as well as a kitchen shop section and plants and gardening things too!

Lots of rain this afternoon and very grey and diwmal.
