Polypores / Teeth Of The Sea

We first saw Polypores at the Capstone Theatre in Liverpool in April of this year, and recently missed seeing him again when Covid prevented me from going to the Hymns For Robots festival in Lancaster a few weeks ago. However, this evening, he was playing at The Ferret in Preston, so we finally had a chance to see him perform again.

The Ferret is really just a pub with all the chairs and tables removed from the bar area, and a small stage set up against the wall. Still, there was plenty of space for Polypores, who you can see playing his modular set up in today's Blip. He wasn't quite so kinetic on this occasion, but it was still an enjoyable show.

He was supporting Teeth Of The Sea, whom I'd only heard of when Polypores had recommended them in an email, so I thought we'd hang on and give them a listen, but in the end we stayed for the whole set; they were excellent. Great music and a lively performance.

Also worthy of a mention is the other support act, Dwellings, and the fact that, unbelievably, A Certain Ratio is going to be playing The Ferret soon. I bought us tickets as soon as the Minx spotted them on the forthcoming gigs poster.
