Izzy fits in well with us as a travel companion; happy to make a leisurely start to the day, loves an activity, as well as a nice bar.

She and I met for breakfast, this morning, while the Minx had a lie-in. There was a queue outside the café we were thinking of trying, so we walked on a hundred yards and found somewhere nicer and pretty much empty. Result!

Actually, this is a good point to tell you that if you're thinking of visiting Kraków, which I would whole-heartedly recommend, then watch out for the large portion sizes! (Complemented, happily, with low prices.)

Once we' joined up with the Minx, the three of us proceeded to the Museum of Modern Art, which, as is often the way, was a bit of a mixed bag. The theme was food, and the exhibits ran the usual gamut from clever, playful, and thought-provoking, to pointless, silly, and "I could have done that".

My favourite item was a film of Andy Warhol eating a burger, which I'd never seen before.

Later on, the Minx and Izzy had disappeared into a shop and I was waiting on the pavement a little further down the road, outside a pair of wooden doors, one of which was open, when a young man walked slowly past me.
And the he came back, walked a bit further on, turned around, and came back, frowning at his phone. He went to the wooden doors, and tried the handle on a door just inside, gave up and wandered away again.

And the he returned again, this time trying the handle a bit more forcefully. The door opened and in he went. Once he'd made his way in, I walked over and peered through the door: there was a bar in there.

Then the Minx and Izzy turned up and it turned out this bar was next on our list, as it had been recommended by the daughter of one of the Minx's friends.

It was fantastic - low lighting and lots of wooden furniture - so we found a place to sit in one of the rooms, ordered some drinks and read our books. Bliss! (One thing I've noticed here, actually: people in bars tend not to have their phones out. I like that.)

We went to a couple more bars after that and ate in a restaurant located in an old synagogue. More great food and a perfect end to the day.
